The Port of Tromsø is strategically situated on the edge of the Arctic. It is one of the most important ports in the country. The Norwegian Goverment has defined it as a key development area. The Port of Tromsø is among one of the largest fishing and cruise ports in Norway, as well as one of the fast growing ones.

The Port of Tromsø is owned by the Municipality of Tromsø.

Our objectives under the articles of association are:

• The business development, construction, management and operation of the port and industrial area in Tromsø
• Promoting the effective, safe and efficient handling of shipping in the Port of Tromsø and the offshore approaches to the port
• Safe and efficient operation

We have a clear goal to ensure sustainable maritime development in the Arctic. We set absolute requirements for health, safety and the environment. Safe and efficient operation are our top priority at the same time that we protect the environment and benefit local community.
