AT THE RIGHT TIME, AT THE RIGHT PLACE WITH THE RIGHT TOOLS
Tromsø is the largest logistic hub in the Northern Norway, strategically situated on the edge of the Arctic. The city of konwledge and innovation will play an important role in the development of the North.
The city is home to the world’s northernmost university. Tromsø also has a range of independent research organisations. Arctic resources and environmental threats are topics of great public concern, which the University of Tromsø and the research organisations takes special interest in.
Many international leading companies active in the fields of fish export, information technology, space technology, biotechnology, and oil and gas industry are located in Tromsø too.
Tromsø is a good starting point for cooperation between industry, research and educational community and the public to enhance innovation ability and competitiveness in the north.
Attractive infrastructure and adequate area are essential for the large industrial players to establish themselves in the north.
To meet industry needs we now develop a modern port and industrial park at Grøtsund, only 10 kilometer from the city centre and 14 km from the Northern Norway’ main airport.
This project is an important part of the Norwegian Government’s High North strategy to establish sustainable petroleum activity in the Arctic.
