Safety and security comes first.

In Northern Norway's busiest port, it is essential that all shipping traffic is handled as safely and efficiently as possible. The Port Control is responsible for the central coordination of shipping traffic. 

In addition to safety, security is another important focal point for the Port of Tromsø. The port fully meets the United Nations International Maritime Organization's (IMO) International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code).
